To join our panel, please visit our home page. Next, click on Join Now and follow the on-screen instructions. Note: If you experience problems downloading our software, please make sure your firewall (if applicable) is set to allow access for Nssetup.exe or NielsenOnline.exe.
Is there a fee to join Nielsen Digital Voice?
There is no fee to join this panel. Please note that you will never need to offer credit card information or purchase anything in order to participate. In fact, you will receive sweepstakes entries for every month you remain in the panel, as well as other opportunities for prizes.
What will I have to do as part of Nielsen Digital Voice?
As part of our panel, all you have to do is complete the installation of our app (NielsenOnline.exe) when you register with us. We will also send invitations for you to participate in some short surveys. Members who have opted for our premium membership will be periodically asked via a message prompt to identify who in their household is using the computer. Your participation in our Internet panel is not contingent on your participation in the surveys. In fact, all of our surveys are completely voluntary. Your participation in our Internet panel is also not contingent on your responses to the message prompt. You may downgrade your panel membership any time to a completely passive membership by contacting us.
How long do I have to participate?
Nielsen Digital Voice is an on-going project. Your participation in our Internet research is at your discretion. Should you ever decide to stop participating, you may do so at any time.
Can I participate outside of the United States?
This particular panel is for U.S. based residents only (U.S. citizenship is not a requirement). Other countries with Internet panels include Italy, Spain, Germany, France, Switzerland, Australia, Brazil, China, New Zealand and the United Kingdom. The invitations for Nielsen Digital Voice are sent via our affiliates who may not be able to distinguish that you are not a U.S. resident.
How do I cancel my participation?

How do I update my profile?
If you have installed our app and completed the registration process successfully, you can update your profile by clicking on Update Profile. Please note that if you are not currently logged in, you will be asked for your username and password in order to enter our Members Area.
How do I update my username and/or password?
To update your username or password, please visit our home page. Enter your username and password in the Member Login section and click Submit. Next, click Change Username and follow the on-screen instructions.
How can I retrieve my password if I forgot it?
If you forgot your password, please click the following link: Forgot your Password. You will be asked to enter your username, which is the email address you used to sign up as a panelist. I entered my month and year of birth, but I cannot proceed to the next profile page. What can I do?
Our profile pages require that the primary owner/renter confirm their month and year of birth by entering it a second time. This second field is located directly below the first month/year entry.
Do I have to fill out profile information for all the members of my household?
Yes, in order to accurately report the way that you and members of your household use the computer and the Internet, we ask that you provide us with profile information for everyone in your household.
How can I remove or add a household member to my profile?

How can I update my profile to reflect how often other household members use this computer?
The reason you cannot enter how often other household members use your computer is because you originally noted that you were the sole user of your computer. To add how often other household members use this computer, follow the instructions below:
I am not sure who to enter as the primary owner or renter of my household - what can I do?
If you find it difficult to choose a primary owner or renter because you have household members or roommates who share equally in household expenses, we simply ask that you choose one person who owns or rents this home, even if you do so arbitrarily. We do not suggest your choice be either male or female. We only ask that you make a choice so that we can include your data in our reports.
If a household member is under the age of 16, do I need to enter a working status for him/her?
Please note that the working status or work history of children under 16 years of age is not required. You will find those fields grayed out on your profile pages.
Will others be able to access my personal information during the course of registration?
Our profile pages are secured. The personal information that you provide us will not be accessible to others when you register with Nielsen Digital Voice.

Yes, as long as your Mac is compatible with the system requirements above.
Will the Nielsen Digital Voice software slow down my browser or computer?
The Nielsen Digital Voice software has been designed to have no impact on the functionality of your computer. The software requires far less memory than other program applications that may already be operating on your computer. Once downloaded, you should not be able to notice that the software is running.
Can I prevent the Nielsen Digital Voice software from starting up when my computer boots up?
Please note that the Nielsen Digital Voice software is designed to run automatically when your computer boots up, with limited impact on the functionality of your computer. Therefore, it cannot be prevented from starting up automatically.
Will I be able to install (or delete) other software from my computer while the Nielsen Digital Voice software is running?
Our software will not affect the way that your computer functions. Once the Nielsen Digital Voice software is installed, you will still be able to install or delete any other type of software.

We collect demographic information about you and your household in order to know the profile of the people who are using your computer and to select surveys that apply to you and your household.

Your information is aggregated with thousands of other Internet users like yourself. Please be aware that your information is always held in strictest confidence and will never be used to directly market or sell products to you.
Why do you ask for my contact information?
We ask for your contact information in order to know the geographic region your household is located. This allows us to provide you with telephone assistance at a convenient hour. We also use your contact information to select surveys that apply to you and your household's interests. Please note that your information is aggregated with thousands of other Internet users like yourself.
How did you get my email address?
We may have received your email address from one of our affiliates, but it is also possible that one of your friends referred you to our panel.
